I was jamming to a rocking Rush tune last night when I got the Blue Screen Of Death on my laptop and Alex Lifeson’s guitar riff abruptly stopped in deafening silence!

Hard drive crash.

I felt a familiar gut wrenching sickness in my stomach as I attempted to reboot the laptop.  I spent at least an hour turning it off, letting it cool down and firing it back up.  Nothing.

Finally, I found the keystrokes that took me to the reinstall utility, and the only option it was giving me was the overwrite the hard drive and restore to factory defaults.  I knew this meant that all of the photos and videos I had done over the last 12 months were going to be vaporized… all the testimonials I had gotten from my customers, the videos from events, the pictures of me and my new friends.

I hit the button that said “OK, take me back to a simpler time when I didn’t have a full hard drive and didn’t have over 100 software programs installed on my computer…” and winced.

The restoration took over 2 hours and 4 attempts before it finally succeeded.  I guess the formatting was not successsful on 3 of the tries and it really needed to wipe that drive really well before moving on to the installation phase.

During that time, I kept remembering different things that were on that partition.  The roboform data for over 500 different websites. The software that I knew I would probably never install again…lol, because I probably won’t remember that I had it.  All the camtasia videos I did of how to install wordpress.  In fact, the PLR videos I was planning on selling went up in vapors too, my depression was spiraling into a headlong nosedive as windows restoration services worked hard on erasing the last 2 years of work…

Woke Up This Morning, My Dog Was Dead…

I awoke feeling grumpy.  Grumpy looked at me and told me to get out of his bed.  Dang cartoon characters…

I immediately remembered the tragic loss I had suffered last night.  Then I remembered the loss I had suffered last weekend while I was at jvAlert with a couple hundred of my newest online friends – my dog Rocky had passed away at a ripe old age of 10 years.  His mother had passed away at about that age, too, which is probably a genetic defect, but we had love to take long walks together and now I remembered that my walking buddy was gone, so that I wouldn’t be able to go out and take a walk to forget about everything.

Friends – The Cure For The Common Life

I had reinstalled tweetdeck last night, and set it up for my  twitter account.  So I tweeted a cry for help:

Validation

After spending the entire 16 minutes watching that video, I felt like myself again and stopped feeling sorry for myself!  It is amazing to have an extended family of thousands of people who can bring you a smile at a moment’s notice!  Thank you Heather for the smile!

How To Make $250 Per Hour From Your Dining Room!

One of the things that I had started working on yesterday (luckily I had 2 paragraphs written so no big loss) was a report where I could show a complete newbie how to make $250 for an hour’s worth of work that he or she could probably outsource to a teenager in their neighborhood for $15 per hour.

Backups, Anyone?

Now if you were to become proficient at installing blogs, you could also tell the same small businesses that you could install and maintain a blog for them for $97 setup and $37 per month to keep it updated and backup their database.  It would be a piece of cake to do the installations if you are already a student of MyBloggingSchool.com, and the backups can be done with a macro in the Easy Button Marketer software package so that you can set them up to happen automatically each week.

As you can see, in this economy, you are only limited my your imagination and your drive to go out and find the money, because the opportunities are there for everyone who has a desire.  I will be writing this report in a pdf format and offering it for $7 (it will be more detailed) but I figured I would give you a sneak preview for free!

Some amazing things are going on and I am happier than I could have been even 3 months ago!  First of all the Marketer’s Cruise was amazing in January!  I made some friendships on that ship that I will treasure forever!

The lifestyle is amazing on a cruise ship.  It is one place where you are taken care of like royalty.  The strange thing is that when you get home, you have to start doing things, like cook, if you want to eat.

I am already reserving a cabin for my honey and I on next year’s cruise January 9th, 2010 and I would love to see you with us!  We are getting a new ship, the Carnival Dream and it will be a dream indeed, with room for 3400 and hot tubs suspended over the side of the ship!

Meetings – The Curse Of Business

Getting Social

I hope you had a chance to see jvAlert Live this weekend. I was running the camera at http://jvalert.tv for most of the weekend, and my best friend Yvonne Lyon helped me broadcast when I had to be on stage.

This is the transition of going from newbie to expert.

I started out going to jvAlert as just a helper. Not standing out, not known by many. But as I continued to grow and met new people who influenced me, I began to make the transition.

I am gearing up for a fun time with the Super Bowl this evening.

We typically watch the Super Bowl at home, unless we get invited to a party somewhere, but most of the time it is the family at home.

My favorite part is the commercials, because that is where you see marketing genius at work. They only have 30 seconds to get your attention and you may be getting ready to head to the bathroom because of the refreshing beverages you just had.

So if they want to stop you in their tracks, they need to do something outrageous, since your bladder is shrieking rather loud.

Watch the Super Bowl commercials and watch for the attention getting headline (usually not a headline in a commercial) – which will be something outlandish or urgent. See how many different styles of headlines they use, and take notes of some of the ways they use humor.

In fact, if you see a commercial that really makes you laugh, try to remember what business actually did that commercial. Sometimes the ad fails to deliver on the actual message and only entertains.

Your own sales page will often work like that, your headline might draw the wrong people in, or give the wrong impression. You want a benefit laden headline that tells the reader that they are going to get this benefit if they read on!

Of course, I have a bad habit of always being in business mode, so I am always enjoying the learning experiences, but I do plan on rooting for the Steelers, even though I may end up switching in mid game for the Cardinals if they start showing some promise…lol.

I am more a fan of the game than of either of these two teams. The Cardinals have a very good quarterback who can deliver the ball anywhere on the field. But the Steelers defense is rated #1 against both pass and run, so they will have some resistance I am sure, but the true test of the winners is how well they face the resistance and overcome it!

So enjoy your day, if you watch the game, enjoy the whole experience. Take the time to enjoy your family and friends, and tell someone that you love them today!
