Every single day we make a choice to smile
or to scowl, to love or to hate, to work or
do nothing…

Listen To Your First Words

When you wake up in the morning, do me
a favor and write down the first words that
you think about as you roll out of bed.

Do this for two weeks and see if those
words don’t have a theme of positiveness
or negativeness based on the surrounding
ambiance that you are subjected to.

You will actually find yourself editing your
thoughts in the morning as you do this,
because you will start to see a negative
pattern… this is a choice.

You can do like I did and I wrote down
my goals and I wrote down a time frame.
I even visualized it as I imagined setting
fire to my old mobile home in one of the
largest bonfires in our county… so that
we can build a brand new house on the
same land!

comes along that changes everything we

PPS – In a followup to yesterday’s post about my wife stabbing me right in the heart about my business, she has flip flopped on the issue and has again decided to join me to Chicago, providing I don’t bankrupt the household paying for the ticket… Gotta love that confidence in me, right? LOL.

Good thing I have a higher power to look up to for the help I need and the support to give me the confidence to continue creating a million dollar business… only 176 days remaining til the bonfire!

My wife just called me from her job to tell me she is not going to the Master’s Seminar with me this weekend, but that we need to go to counseling. At this point, I wonder if that is really necessary, since the support system that I rely on the most is in Chicago on that weekend.

Well, ok, my real support system is my faith in Jesus Christ. I know that through Him, I can overcome all things. Which is why I don’t fear going to Chicago without my wife. I love her and I wish she could join me to see what kind of people are involved in this business – but in her own words “I am not interested in your business!”

She reminds me of all of the people I used to encounter in Multilevel Marketing businesses when I would build the dream with them and they would tell me what motivated them (their dream), but when I would follow up with them, they would tell me, “We aren’t interested in that!”

At first I took it hard.

I would think to myself, what is it about me that makes these people not want to be a part of it? But it really is, what is it about them that makes them afraid to be a part of this? So I have to tell myself that my wife is afraid of my success. It has to be that she fears the change when I grow into the success I believe I will achieve!

But I will shrug it off.

I understand that my mundane support system has left me high and dry again, but my supernatural support system is able to overcome everything that gets thrown at it. After all, wasn’t it Jesus who rebuked the storm and stilled the waters? So I am placing my faith where it counts, and working my ass off in the meantime!

Which brings me to another instance where someone’s support system took a major hit…

Lisa Preston’s sister, Carol came home from work to find her home ravaged by fire! Luckily, nobody was hurt, but it left Carol with nowhere to live and the loss of everything they owned! On a different note, I noticed a trend from the subscribers on my aweber list that I have to attribute the to large numbers of joint ventures I was part of over the last 6 months. I sent an email out about a free web tool website that I posted about on my blog and I got 8 clicks. My other autoresponder garnered more than 300% more clicks from the identical email and many more of them downloaded the software, too!

This is serving as a reminder that I have been overly promoting for the last 3 months… While I know that if I didn’t promote, I would not have made nearly the amount of commissions that I have this year, I also know that I need to change the direction that I am headed. Which is why I am looking at making some big changes to my marketing plan. My goal for the rest of this year is to develop a curriculum for training people to help offline businesses increase revenue using online marketing tactics! This will open up a huge new market for people around the globe, since I can’t help everyone do this… All I can do is train people to develop a business that will reach their local market. In so doing, I will attain my goals of helping hundreds of new Internet Marketers make a good living online without having to face the competition from the huge marketers who have taken over the IM niche!

So if you do not hear as much from me over the next two months, it is because I am training 3 – 6 students to work with clients in their local offline market as I develop a training program that I will roll out to the world! This is going to be big and I can see that I will have to use the speaking circuit to get the word out, but in the meantime, keep me posted on what you are up to!

When you get a room full of like minded people, it is easy to assimilate into the group… Alone at your computer? Less likely to happen.

So what does getting together with a bunch of Internet Marketing people have to do with getting traffic?

I enjoy my friends at work. They are silly, they do things that I probably wouldn’t do and they like to discuss some of the things that we either agree or disagree with.

But I don’t get my income advice from them. They make the same as or less than my monetary goals for my business. I make more from my part time Internet Business than some of them make all year at out job. Heck, I am only $9,000 a year away from doubling my job’s income.

But that is not where I plan to be in 12 months. I want to make an Impact! I want to help change the world.

So when I want to talk about world changing income streams, I need to be around people like Willie Crawford, Ken McArthur, Simon Leung or Matthew Glanfield. These people are helping others and their incomes are more in the range where I plan to be in the next 2 – 5 years! That is one of the reasons I never miss a jvAlert conference.

Tremendous Networking Opportunity

These conferences are tremendous places to spend time with people who think at a higher level. Remember what your mom told you about hanging with the wrong crowd? If you hang with people, you will become more like them. In fact, tests were done where athletes were put in the same room with ordinary people and all of their vital signs were tested before and after. What the observers found was that the ordinary people exhibited higher levels of brain activity and energy than they had before they spent time with the athletes. It seemed that brain activity and energy can be helped by surrounding yourself with people who are at a higher level than you are.

Wait! That isn’t the end of the story here. They also found that the athletes exhibited a LOWER level of energy and brain activity after being around the ordinary people for just an hour! So being around negativity and laziness is dangerous. I know that once I go to work, I avoid staying around people and talking too much, because once I get home, I am no good for much productivity.

So what I do is read when I get home, I listen to audios in my car on the way home, I use twitter (all of my friends on twitter earn significantly more than I do – in fact, most of them are million dollar earners or higher) to keep myself pumped up throughout the course of the day! Then I get up early and work on my business BEFORE I go to work.

I give my business the best brain power and energy I have and I give my employer the remaining husk that has been depleted of all usefulness…lol.

Really though, if you have a job, give yourself a fighting chance. Take an opportunity to be a champion for your business while you are fresh, and then go to work, instead of coming home drained and half heartedly trying to make something happen.

Recharge Your Batteries Regularly

That is where attending a monthly offline event is so important. Surrounding yourself with people who are at every level of achievement helps bring the entire room to a more tolerable level of energy and brain function! The good thing is, you will develop relationships with other people that you can call on in times of need (when your boss just called you the lowest thing to ever walk in the door) to help get you pumped back up to a level that makes you productive again.

I am attending the Master’s Seminar in Chicago July 18 – 20, and some of my best friends are attending. The Master’s Seminar is put on by Ross Goldberg.
