How To Make Money Online In 3 Steps
By Jimmy D. Brown

One of the hardest things you'll ever face as a someone doing business
online is this:  getting your first sale.

Seriously, that's the great difficulty.  Once you figure out how to get that
sale it's simply a matter of duplicating the process an infinite amount of
times to continue producing additional sales.

To be sure, you will test, tweak and completely change your tactics over
time, but the fundamental process remains constant.

Making money online is all about connecting your offer with a buyer.
That's what it takes to make money:  getting customers for something
that earns you money.

The question is…

How?

Three tiny letters.  One syllable.  One small word.  One BIG question.
How?  How can I get customers who buy what I'm selling?

That's what I want to answer today.  The process is the same for us all.
There are three steps...

1. DEFINE the goal.

I know, I know - you're probably thinking this:  "The goal is to make
money!  In fact, a LOT of money!"  Yeah, I get it.  But that's like saying,
"The goal is to be healthy" or "The goal is to be happy".

We need something PRACTICAL and PRECISE.

In terms of defining the goal, what is it that you will do in order "make
money"?  In other words, what is your OFFER?

Will you…

* Create your own product to sell?
* Promote other people's products as an affiliate?
* Sell items on auction sites like eBay?
* Earn income as a freelance writer?
* Make money as a blogger?
* Sell digital photos as a business?

You need to decide the MEANS by which you will generate sales. 

My recommendation is to choose one of the above that I just mentioned.
These are all PROVEN ways to make money online.  They are all relatively
beginner friendly.  Pick one of them and move on...

2. DETERMINE The Steps.

You've chosen a goal - a METHOD to make money online.  Now it's a
matter of planning out the steps you'll need to take to implement that
method.  In other words, it's time to break things down into ACTION
STEPS.

Your goals probably include large steps, like “set up a website” and
“create a product.” If you put a task like that on your to-do list, it may
take you weeks or months to accomplish.

So what you need to do is break these large tasks into reachable action
steps. That way you won’t feel as overwhelmed.

Example: A task like “set up a website” may include the
following smaller tasks and reachable steps:

1. Set up website
1.1 Choose domain name.
1.2 Choose webhosting.
1.3 Change domain name servers to point to new
webhost.

2. Set up blog
2.1 Install WordPress blog.
2.2 Customize WP blog.
2.3 Install plugin.
2.4 Write and post six messages.

3. Set up landing page
3.1 Choose autoresponder (like Aweber.com).
3.2 Create landing page copy.
3.3 Create confirmation page.
3.4 Determine what information market is looking
for.
3.5 Create seven part course based around market
demand.
3.6 Write and upload autoresponder messages.

You can see the difference. Instead of thinking “I need to set up my
website,” you can focus on one action step at a time. Focusing on
“choosing a domain name” is downright easy compared to focusing on
“setting up a site.” 

Prioritize these tasks chronologically and then...

3. DO The Checklist.

It's all about execution at this point.  You need to do your to-do list!

What I would recommend is breaking things down into a series of daily
and weekly to-do lists.

You may want to do this on a weekly basis, where you spend Sunday
night creating your to-do lists for the week. If you get off track – or if you
work faster than anticipated – be sure to revise your list for the next day.

The important thing is to set yourself a schedule of what to do each day
of your work week.  It doesn't matter if you have 30 minutes per day to
devote to it or 8 hours a day … schedule a task for each day of the week
in order to work your way through the steps toward your goal.

Example: Here's a BRIEF look at what your weekly schedule
might look…

Monday:    Choose a domain name and register. (See notes)
Tuesday:   Find a hosting company. (See notes)
Wednesday: Setup order link at Clickbank. (See notes)
Thursday:  Upload all files and test process. (See notes)
Friday:    Write mailing and send to list. (See notes)

Obviously, all of this depends upon what you have written down in STEP
TWO from above, so it's important that you break everything down into
action steps before scheduling those steps.

To summarize:  you make money by connecting an offer and a buyer.
You make that connection by defining your goal, determining the steps
for reaching that goal and doing those steps.

That's how you get it done.

Of course, "WHAT are the steps for reaching the goal" is an entirely
different question, right?

reach the end result you're looking for much faster and easier.

Tragedy seems to catch you at the least opportune moments. The 8.9 magnitude earthquake that shook Japan to its core, then sent a 23 foot tsunami to scrape up whatever was loose from the coastline sent shockwaves of horror and anguish all over the world.
In this new media age, unless the power has been out for a while, you find out about things like this pretty fast. Twitter and Facebook can get a message through all 7 continents in seconds. What you do with that information, however, can deeply impact you. You have to take everything in context and react without contributing to the problem.
Luckily for me, the people in my social circle are very even keeled and did not overreact. But not everyone is that way, it is very easy to start spouting end of the world dogma when things like this happen. But who does that help?
It sure doesn’t help the relatives of people living in Japan find out if their loved ones are safe. They are monitoring Twitter and Facebook to see if any word is coming from their family. They look at every vivid picture and video in case they see some evidence that the ones they are worried about are still alive.
The sheer tragedy of this situation can only be imagined by those of us with no skin in this game. But what happens if the next one is closer to home?
Live each day like it is your last, that way each new day is like a gift. Tell everyone you love that you love them.
Stay away from the coastline when the ground starts shaking.

So starts the Beatles song A Day In The Life. It basically tells about the news cycle (long before CNN existed) and how the news outlets are always looking for the strange, bizarre and negative stories to get you to tune in.

But by training us to look for the negative, they are doing a major disservice to the world. Think about how many negative subject lines hit your inbox in a day. How many of them motivate you to open them and read the rest of the story?

“Why your website is not making you any money!”

“Your account has been deleted!”

“Don’t buy XYZ product!”

Many of the best marketers have known this secret of the tabloids for years. A negative headline (or subject line in emails) will get the reader’s attention. That is why the grocery stores have magazines with the headlines facing up for you to read about who is cheating on who, how the president is meeting with aliens and how the end of the world is coming according to some newly uncovered 5000 year old text.

Fact is, once they have you reading the story, they know you are going to keep reading. Same with emails. Once you open that email, they are going to hook you.

What is the solution?

I know that when I see these negative headlines, I rarely open the email, because I don’t want to encourage the marketer to continue with this practice… unfortunately too many people fall into the trap, and actually make a purchase based on the slippery slope. Each section of the slope is well oiled to make sure you fall into the funnel as quickly as possible. The headline gets you to the first paragraph, which leads you to the next and so forth, until you are clicking on the link.

The best way to help change the culture, is to be informed.

Don’t fall for the negative headlines. You know that if it is coming from a marketer, the chances are good that the negativity is a ploy.

Why worry about negativity in the first place?

Think about the way psychology works. You read things, they sink into your subconscious mind, which has no truth detector like your conscious mind does. It believes everything the conscious mind tells it. So when you read things like “Why you aren’t making any money” or “Your website sucks” in the subject lines of your emails, your conscious mind may not believe it, but the subconscious mind is devouring it and believing.

So your results will align themselves with the negative patterns that your subconscious mind is absorbing. “I am not making any money online” and “My website sucks” becomes the framework, and your actions help make that reality.

When you read stuff like that, you are better off saying something that contradicts the negative subject line out loud, like “I am going to make a lot of money online” and “My website is getting better at converting prospects into customers!” These are called affirmations and have been shown to make people successful without any other training. They simply believe they are going to be successful, and their subconscious starts aligning their results with the framework that it believes to be true.

If you can do affirmations even one tenth as well as this little girl, you will have much success in your life! Gratitude is the key to changing your attitude about your life. Crush the negativity with powerful affirmations that set you up for success!

“My copy converts!”

“I am making money online!”

“I am grateful that my online business is growing!”

“I am thankful that my list is getting bigger and more responsive every day!”

Begin doing this in front of the mirror. The car is a great place to do this, although you may get funny looks if you do it a traffic lights. But think about it this way, you can look funny now and when you are driving your dream car, they will be drooling too much to worry about your eccentricity.

Insanity + Money = Eccentricity.

Start your successful day right now, by affirming something that you want to happen in your life, and be thankful for it as if you have already received it! That is the first step toward your positive, successful outcome!
