I took my truck to the shop yesterday, and after all is said and done, it will be $597 to put in a new clutch, throwout bearing and rear main seal. This is after paying rent and spending a bunch of money on bills for the month.

Unexpected expenses hit us all the time, and then we also have to plan for expenses for our businesses, such as flying to San Diego later this month for The Impact Event. This is a necessary business expense, because of the reputation I have built over the years as the person who helps keep events running smoothly.

So why am I whining and complaining about my truck? I am not complaining as much as telling you why I am willing to sacrifice a few video projects for an insanely low price, just so I can raise the cash to cover the remainder of the month.

I don’t like to rely on my monthly commissions as my sole source of income, so I perform video and blogging services. My video services are $599 per video minute, plus you pay for the voiceover (I do not have the acoustics for voiceovers) and any music, stock footage or images you need for your video. I have a collection of clips and images, but I cannot guarantee that I will have the ones you need for your video.

What am I offering?

Basically, I want to do some 5 minute videos for people. Instead of charging the full $2995 for these 5 minute videos, I am going to work closely with 5 clients and I will do these 5 Minute Videos for $1497 each. That is an incredibly crazy price for 5 minute videos, because of the time intensity on my part. It can take hours for one minute of video, and the rendering process can tie up my computer for the better part of a day. But because I am looking for more testimonials, I will give you the chance to have me do your video for $1497. I will need 50% immediately and the balance upon completion of the first full rendering. You will get 1 additional revisions after that for no charge, and minor revisions will be $97 each.

Only 5 people will be able to take me up on this, because the amount of time I will have to put into these projects will be almost overwhelming, but I want to get even more testimonials for my services.

What will you get for $1497?

First, you will get a 30 minute consultation on the phone or skype. In this consultation, we will discuss your goal for the video, and what you will need. Next I will expect you to provide a script, explaining what you want shown, the mood of the video and whether you want any music for each section.

Now you are not limited to one 5 minute video, you could decide that you want five 1 minute videos.  This would be useful for marketing campaigns, media blitzing, etc. We can decide that during our consultation.

If you need a voiceover for your video, then you will have to get that done at your expense, or record it yourself. For this, it is important that you have no background noise and that you use a high quality microphone. Most professional voiceovers are done in studios with professional equipment. The audio for your video is the most critical element.

Select some stock video clips or images that you would like to use for your video. If you own the rights to an image or video clip, we can use it in the video. I do not use copyrighted images without written proof that you have the rights to use them.

Once I have the script, the clips and the audio, I will render the video for you in WMV HQ and mp4 formats so that you can submit them to most of the video sharing sites. If you require a DVD of the video, we will require an additional $97 for DVD mastering.

I will place the rendered video on my server for you to review, at which time the balance due will be invoiced. At that point, if you have any changes you would like to have done, I will make the changes and then send you the download link for the final version.

If you are taken to a payment page for the full price of $2995, then that means that you missed the 5 spots. We can take your order, but understand that the video will be produced after the original 5 videos are completed.

   If you place a deposit before 4PM today (3/5/2010) Eastern Time, I will knock $500 off the final balance. So you would only need $248.50 when the video is complete.

   But you must order before 4PM or I won’t have the money in time to pick up my truck!
