When The Potholes Of Life Swallow Your Car!

I learned a valuable lesson over the weekend. You see, I had been losing my “positive attitude” because of a lot of little things building up in my life.

Little things, alone can easily be crushed by a positive “can do” attitude by just driving over them. I call them speed bumps. Sometimes, the speed bumps are pot holes. They are barely visible and when you drive over them, they engulf your wheel…

Individual potholes of life are not so bad, but when a bunch of them accumulate to form a crater in the road, you can get into trouble unless you have people surrounding you that can help pull your car out of the muck.

You may remember that in November and December of last year, I had to be out of work for two month for surgery and at the same time, my wife was also out of work (almost 4 months) because she was having back surgery. So the income slowed down during that time and I set into motion a few businesses that were designed to keep a steady flow of income even after I returned to work.

My plan was to be retired from my job by now.

The potholes came in the way of bank fees and the proverbial snowball effect that those had on my account. Over February, March and April, I ended up falling victim to my own stupidity and an unforgiving banking system to the tune of over $2000! Add to that the medical bills we had accrued and the time I was spending away from my business as I had returned to my full time job and you can see that the pothole was getting really deep!

As I careened headlong into the pothole that engulfed my tire, half the axle and part of my fender, I cried out for help (it was not a very loud one – pride is also a digger of deep holes) and one person heard it. Tom Beal emailed me and asked me what was wrong. After empathizing with me he immediately showed me how to tie the chains to the undercarriage of my car and how to get myself out of the pothole. Then he showed me how to fill the pothole and get past it without further damage.

Sometimes you need to confide in someone. Sometimes the people that are close to you don’t hear you. Sometimes it takes someone who doesn’t know you to look at your situation and recommend a solution that you might not have heard if someone close to you had said the same thing.

I have made a decision to document my struggles and how I overcome them so that I can help others with the same thing. I will be setting up a debt reduction membership site complete with step by step action plans and software to calculate which payments you should be attacking first. During the summer, I will be having the software designed and helping a dozen people as we tackle the debt problem that many Americans have struggled with. These 12 people will be involved in Mastermind calls, a members only forum where we can develop an action plan together and encourage each other in the slow process of overcoming debt.

In the course of this year, I have heard many people tell me of their brushes with foreclosure and bankruptcy! I don’t want to leave them in the dark alone with the weight of the world squeezing their last breath out of them. So if you want to be a part of this Debt Busting Dozen, I will choose the top 12 stories from comments on this blog. Together we will work out a way to beat this and become financially free. I will get some experts in credit repair, debt reduction and wealth building to join some of our calls to give us ways out of the debt cycle and how to add assets to our portfolios and finally how to protect those assets from future potholes!

Warning, this will not be free, even for the dozen who will be a part of the case studies.

One thing that I learned is that you are more likely to be committed to something you have to pay for than if you get it for free. But the price of the membership will be one quarter of the price that I will charge for it after we officially launch. I want success stories before the launch and testimonials to show Americans that they aren’t alone in their quiet desperation and that there is a way out. During the summer we will be doing things to increase our income, pay down our debt and learn from top experts in the debt reduction field! On launch day, each of the dozen will have a share of the profits from the launch of the product resulting from this membership! Not only will we have our own JV links, we will be getting a percentage of overall sales to compensate for the time we invested in this project during the summer!
